JG Domestic at Cira Centre Wedding

Amanda and Ty got married at JG Domestic at Cira Centre. They met as neighbors in Philadelphia in June 2014. Amanda was cheerleading for the Philadelphia Eagles and finishing her last year of law school. Ty was working at a finance firm. During that time, Amanda unfortunately had a broken foot. She had trouble getting up and down the stairs of their fourth-floor walk-up apartment building, so she resorted to crawling. That is how they first met each other – in the stairwell, while Amanda was crawling up the stairs. Talk about “love at first sight.” Not soon after, they had a “first” date at the Swann Fountain at Logan Circle. They have been inseparable ever since. Now, they both work in Manhattan and look forward to their new life as a married couple!

Their wedding planning process

First, we made a list of what was most important to us and we both agreed that our ceremony was #1. The day exists to celebrate the ceremony of our marriage so we wanted our friends and family to witness us truly committing ourselves to one another. We created an original ceremony and wrote our own vows. We included readings from family members, a celtic handfasting ceremony, and a Bagpiper to walk us down the aisle after we became Mr. & Mrs. We were so happy with how it turned out, despite all the weeping!

Next, we each picked our second most important aspects. I said photography and he said the party aspect (dinner/dancing). Therefore, we put our money into those things and tried to cut back on the other things.

Finally, hiring someone to coordinate the day of (and weeks leading up to) the wedding was the best decision we ever made. Arielle Fera from Arielle Fera Events, was a godsend. The wedding would have never been as good without her.
